...the social internet isn't cigarettes. It is food and a lot of it's junk food and a lot of it's worse than junk food. It isn't just Doritos, it's making us sick. But a lot of it is nutritious. We have to get better at being able to identify which is which. But it's going to take a lot of time and I do think there are ways to speed that time up like I remember how successfully we decreased smoking in America...the stories have to be much simpler than here's how you do fact checks and have good information literacy. It has to be a simple story of people trying to manipulate us into being their tools despite the fact that it's going to make our lives worse...
I think Hank Green does a great job of comparing the overload of content with the overabundance of food. And it's such a good analogy because both of them are very contemporary problems.
As an internet resident I should comment more, but I have a slow processor plus those comments anyway would not amount to anything. So just watch the damn video.
